UK House Prices Increased for Seventh Month in a Row in November 2009
UK house prices increased for seventh month in a row in November 2009, according to the recently released Nationwide house price index.
In particular, the seasonally adjusted monthly index increased by 0.5%, matching the increase registered in the previous month but representing a deceleration compared to August and September when the index posted monthly gains of 1.4% and 0.9%, respectively.
UK house prices increases on a year-over-year basis as well. In particular, the index registered a yearly increase of 2.7% for second month in a row. This yearly increase represents an acceleration of price growth compared to the previous month when the index posted a year-over-year increase of 2.0%.
The rolling three-month increase (September, October, November) was 2.8%, representing a deceleration compared to the 3.5% rolling three-month gain registered in October 2009.
